William Lowe, age 73, of Senatobia, passed away at the Sardis Nursing Home on October 7, 2016. He is the husband of Martha Lowe. Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William was born August 30, 1943 in Lambert, MS to the late Harold Lowe and Claudia Tedford Lowe. William proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. He was a former deacon at First Baptist Church in Strayhorn, MS. William worked as a printer for the Tate County Democrat and was an over the road truck driver. In his spare time William enjoyed writing poetry. He was somewhat of a history buff, specifically when it came to the Civil War. He also had an interest in antique cars.

Those left behind to cherish his loving memory include his wife of 54 years, Martha Lowe of Sardis, his daughter, Angie Lowe Woolfolk of Senatobia, his 2 sisters; Carol Griffin (Tommy) of Winona, and Lynn Anderson (Hilton) of Petal, 1 brother, David Lowe (Debbie) of Holcomb, 3 grandchildren; Nick Woolfolk of Senatobia, Zach Red (Marley) of Hernando, and Abby Embrey (Blake) of Senatobia, 2 great grandchildren; Presley Red and Levi Embrey, and a host of nieces and nephews he adored.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Lowe Ferrell and one brother, Joel Lowe.

The family will hold a memorial service to honor William at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Strayhorn Baptist Church.
