Orville E. Andrews, born Oct. 31, 1855, and died Dec. 3, 1874. In recording the death of this estimable young man, we cannot pass without paying, with very many others, a tribute of respect to his memory. While earnestly fitting himself for his chosen profession, that of a physician, he was suddenly stricken down with typhoid fever, which terminated his useful life in a few short weeks; he was a consistent member of the M. E. Church and Good Templars' Lodge, a very zealous advocate of temperance from his youth up, and a wise counselor beyond his years; he was beloved and respected by all who knew him, and almost idolized by his fond mother, who still sheds bitter tears for her darling boy; in his sickness, his only care seemed to be for her, and her anxiety for his welfare; his last words were "tell ma I'm all right," and fell asleep to wake in glory. [Linn Co. History to 1878].
