Asa Adreon
LeROY (PNS) — Asa Adreon, 85, formerly of LeRoy and Downs, died at 7:40 a.m. yesterday (Jan. 17, 1984) at Crestview Nursing Home, Clinton, where he had lived 10 years.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bruce Memorial Home, Leroy, the Rev Fred Belcher officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Downs.
Visitation will be from an hour before the service at the memorial home.
He was born Jan. 31, 1889, in Lexington, a son of John and Nancy Pate Adreon. He married Pearl Hitchell in 1934 in Bloomington. She died in 1974.
Surviving is a son, Oakley, Bloomington; a stepson. Donald, Santa Maria. Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson and two stepdaughters.
He was a mechanic for the B&O railroad in Bloomington for 30 years. He attended Downs Methodist Church.
