Born in West Virginia 23 May 1906, he was the son of the late John William and Rufina Belcher Shutt. He is survived by three sons: William Bryon Shutt of Bishop; Bobby Ray Shutt of Parker, Colorado; and Reginald Dan Shutt of the home; Two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Marie Newton of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Juanita Gay Shutt; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Roberts of Pinoak, and Mrs. Estelle Vance of Rt. 1, North Tazewell; one brother, Fred Shutt of Mullens; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
