Mrs. Acker, 66, of 16th St. died at 3 a.m. today, June 28, 1988, at Altoona Hospital, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Acker retired as a cook from the Cathedral Convent in 1987.

She was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Altoona, the daughter of Roy F. and Nina E. (Whiteman) Edmiston, and married Luther W. Acker, who died July 23, 1979.

Surviving are two children: Susan Loraine Parks of Rialto, Calif., and Sharon Burk of Gallitzin RD; three grandchildren and a great-grand-daughter.

lso surviving are three brothers and a sister; Donald of Jacksonville, Fla.; Alwilda Beck of Loretto, Eugene of Bellwood and Allan of Cumberland, Md.

Mrs. Acker was a member of the Newburg Fire company Auxiliary.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Donald J. Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville.

ACKER - Services for Marian Anna Kathleen Acker of 16th St. will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Donald J. Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, by the Rev. James E. Gascoine. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Preceded in death by brothers: Frank and Leroy, and sister, Helen Burke.
