"Funeral services for Mrs. Savannah Adams, of Indianapolis, will be conducted in the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Ray Kitt, pastor of the Amity Baptist Church, in charge of the services.
The body will then be taken to the Conrad Cemetery at Somerset, Ky., for the graveside services at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon.
Friends may call at the funeral home at any time and are invited to attend the rites.
An illness of three weeks resulted in the death of Mrs. Adams at 9:01 o'clock Sunday morning in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 11, 1881, at Concord, Ky., and was the daughter of the late Green and Sarah Burdine. She was educated in the rural schools of Pulaski county, Kentucky.
In 1897, she became the bride of James Adams and they were the parents of nine children. Four children proceeded her in death and Mr. Adams died on Jan. 19, 1948.
Mrs. Adams had spent most of her life in Somerset and in 1962, went to Indianapolis to make her home with a son, Leon Adams.
Another son, John Adams of Franklin survives with three daughters, Mrs. Nanny Eldridge, Franklin; Mrs. Bea Hall, of Georgetown, Ky.; Mrs. Zona Bullock, of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Also remaining are two sisters, Mrs. Lily Patterson, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Rose Ready, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three brothers, Samuel Burdine, of Illinois; Harvey Burdine, of Missouri; and Bluford Burdine, of Iowa.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Somerset."
