ABADIE Warren A. Abadie, Sr. on Thursday Dec. 25th, 2008 at his home in Covington LA. Husband of 63 years to Rosemary Walker Abadie.

Father of Warren Abadie Jr. and Wayne Abadie. Son of the late Theodore Boy Abadie and Marie Lartigue Abadie. Brother of the late Adele Abadie Calcagno, Stanley J. Abadie and Elodie Abadie Salvant. Beloved uncle of Marie Adele Calcagno and Anthony Calcagno. Stanley Abadie and Warren Abadie.

Grandfather of Kris Abadie Rainer and Faith Abadie, Jeffrey Abadie and Patrick Abadie. Great Grandfather to Kate Rainer and Kyle Rainer. Retired from a life of public relations and sales. Lifelong resident of New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina.

Prior to his military service, worked with Higgins Shipyard-City Park, on the Torpedo boat line and pitched for the company baseball team.

Pitched for the Port Arthur Tarpons in the semi pro Evangeline League. Served with honors in the US Navy Amphibious Forces in the Pacific during WWII. Assigned to the USS Ozark LSV-2 as petty officer and participated in the invasions of Lingayan Gulf-Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

Parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church, past president of the Bastille Day organization 1975-76 and the New Orleans Diamond Club where he was inducted to their baseball hall of fame in 1984. General Manager of the Top of the Mart 1967-71.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 PONTCHARTRAIN BLVD. NEW ORLEANS, LA 70124 on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
