Lesta Alderson, mother of Sandra Alderson Barnes, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2009, at the Odin Care Center in Odin, IL.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Barnes of Salem, and Sue Griffiths and husband Larry of Overton, Nev.; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Alderson; a son, Lawrence "Bud" Alderson; two sisters, Lena Hays and Doris Neal; and two brothers, Leon Baker and Dean Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem with Minister Claude Howell officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p. m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem will follow the services on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Mexico Mission trip at Evergreen Christian Church and will be received at the the funeral home.
