Memories from Susan Lawrence, great-granddaughter:
Charley Adler was born in October 1875 in Nacogdoches County, TX. He disappeared around 1939. Uncle Albert remembers the day he left and what he said to my grandmother. I have been wanting to get mother to ask Albert if he remembers how old he was when this happened which would help narrow down the year he actually disappeared. Since she is now retired, I will give her a list of questions that I need answered! LOL!!!! Charley's parents were Mary Elizabeth Lester Adler Randolph and William Wilson Adler. His mother (Mary) was born in Alabama, but his father (William) was born in New Jersey. His parents married in Caddo Parrish in Louisiana in 1871. His grandfather Charles Madison Lester is buried in Trinity County. After the death of William, Mary moved her two young children to Trinity County to be near her family the Lesters. I think that Mary is buried in Angelina County, but have been unable to locate a burial site. His father William Adler died in Nacogdoches County sometime before 1880. His mother remarried in 1883 to Young William Randolph. After Randolph's death Mary resided with her daughter Sarah Ann (Sally) Adler Nivens in Angelina County.
