East Palestine - Mrs. Sue Betts, 65, of 5884 SR 170, passed away at 2:00 p.m. Friday at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
Sue was born October 18, 1942 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Frazier Hugh Fowler and Dorothy J. Cartwright Fowler Lipply. She had moved to Leesburg, FL in 1985, and returned to this area in 2005. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a cook with area restaurants in East Palestine and North Lima, as well as in the Leesburg, FL area.
She had been a member of the Clarksburg Presbyterian Church.
Susie is survived by her husband, David E. Betts, whom she married January 21, 1961; three daughters, Diane L. Glossen and Robin S. Zalick, both of East Palestine, and Brenda L. Lorey, Negley; and two sons, David L. Betts and Timothy J. Betts, both of Leesburg, FL. She also leaves two brothers, Gordon L. Fowler and Frank J. Fowler, both of New Waterford; a half sister, Frances Kaye of Texas; thirteen grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Fowler.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home.
