Son of Leonard and Charlotte (Fairfield) Beebe. Enlisted in the Union Army on August 4, 1862 at Ovid, MI. Assigned to Company B, 4th Michigan Cavalry on August 28, 1862. Promoted to Corporal on December 20, 1862. Also served in Company H, 15th U. S. Veteran Reserve Corps. Mustered out of Federal Service on July 15, 1865.

Clinton Republican Newspaper, July 18, 1907:

"Nelson Beebe dropped dead Wednesday noon from heart trouble from which he has suffered for some time.

Mr. Beebe was born in Duplain January 21, 1839, where he has always lived with the exception of one year spent in St. Johns. In 1869 he was married to Miss Phoebe Doyen and to this union five children were born, one of whom is living, Mrs. Bertha M. Treat of Ovid.

He served three years in the Fourth Michigan Cavalry, Company B. He is well known throughout Clinton County and his death came as a shock to his many friends.

Besides his wife and daughter he is survived by a sister, Mrs. J. J. Miller of this city and a half-sister, Mrs. L. S. Harrison of Ovid.

The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Church of Christ in Duplain, of which he was a member, under the auspices of the F. & A. M., Rev. W. E. Wheeler officiating."

There is no record of his burial. However, the Clinton County Historical Society is convinced he is buried in this cemetery.
