Son of Lyman and Cynthia (Canfield) Beebe.

Civil War Veteran. Enlisted as a Private on September 6, 1862 in Company H, 143rd Pennsylvania Infantry. His brother, David Porter Beebe, served in the same Company and Regiment. Mustered Out on June 12, 1865 at Hart's Island, NY Harbor, NY.

Mr. Beebe settled in Clearwater, Kalkaska County in 1868. He was the Town Clerk for three years and the first County Treasurer. In the fall of 1876 he moved to Kalkaska. There he was engaged in the mercantile business, lumbering and milling.
