Christina was born in Tennessee to Thomas Jefferson Cantrell and Molinda Edline West. The Cantrells had gone Tennessee from Dade County, Missouri shortly before the beginning of the Civil War. After the war they returned to Missouri, this time going to Howell County. They moved again to Pope County, Arkansas and one more time to Cooke County, Texas, where Christina took sick, passing away at the age of fifteen.
