Find Man Dead At Fire Scene-died March 15, 1954.
Ivan Andrews, lifelong Clinton area resident, was found dead today near his burned cabin on Beaver Island where he lived alone.
Sheriff Marvin Bruhn and County Coroner Ross C. King, who started an invesstigation at 10:30 a.m. had not returned from the scene by press time today.
Police were notified by telephone of the tragedy at 9:45 a.m.but since the scene was outside the city's section of the island, the case was turned over to the sheriff's office.Officials said the living quarters, located in a lonely spot, may have burned down some time ago.
Ivan Andrews was born May 4, 1878 in Camanche. Formerly employed in Clinton saw mills and as operator of a grocery store on Liberty avenue he had farmed on Beaver Island in recent years.
He was married to Josie Flack who died January 28, 1909. Surviving are two sons, Orville, Oak Lawn Ill. and Clair, Crystal Lake, Ill.
