Juanita Kelley was born December 28, 1914, in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, daughter of Simon James Kelley (1889-1940) and Lula Belle Morrell Kelley (1892-1979).

She first married Charles T. Alford, who was born October 29, 1907, in Arkansas, son of Robert and Ollie Alford. Charles died on September 25, 1967 and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery.

Juanita married again to Stan Peery. Juanita died December 15, 1998, and was buried beside her first husband in Lexington Cemetery.

Funeral services for Juanita Kelley Alford Peery, 83, of Chickasha will be held Monday, December 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the College Heights Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Lexington Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Mrs. Peery died Tuesday, December 15, in Chickasha.

She was born December 28, 1914 in Lexington, the eldest of five children, to Simon James and Lula Morrell Kelley. She graduated from Lexington High in 1932, receiving her B.S. Degree from Central State University in 1940 and her Masters' Degree from East Central State College in 1956. She taught at Rocky Point, Stovall, Lexington and Wewoka, retiring after 37 years.

She and Charles T. Alford were married December 24, 1936 and he preceded her in death September 25, 1967. She then married Stan Peery, her childhood sweetheart of 42 years, on December 22, 1973. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1988.

Mrs. Peery was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and Esther Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by twin daughters; her parents and one brother, Colonel Wendell J. Kelley, U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include one son, Joe Ed Alford and his wife, Oteka, of Chickasha; one stepdaughter, Cheryl McCown and her husband, Charley, of Lexington; three sisters, Monace Schmidt, Fredde Lurry and Peggy Lou Kelley, all of Oklahoma City; four sisters-in-law, Mary E. Kelley of Midwest City, Zella Alford of Purcell, Madxine Alford Sherrard of Edmond and Nellie Peery Kemp of Cleburn, Texas; one brother-in-law, Ray Peery of Lexington; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
