CENTRAL LAKE — Marvin E. Barrett, 69, of Central Lake, formerly of Traverse City, passed away on June 15, 2010, at his home. Marvin was born on June 28, 1940, in Traverse City, the son of William and Julianna (Sich) Barrett.
Marvin was a lifelong resident of Traverse City and was a past member of the Eagles Club.
He was employed by Traverse City Light and Power for over 30 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and many sports, especially NASCAR, and was an avid Detroit Lion and Tiger fan.
Marvin is survived by four children, April (Duane) Bush of Veedersburg, Ind., Melody Barrett of Novi, Mark (Lisa) Barrett of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Scott Barrett of Central Lake; and seven grandchildren, Caleb, Josh, Justin, Jessika, Landon, Madison and Garrison. Also surviving are a brother, William Jr. (Elsie) Barrett of Lansing; Jan (Bob) Olman of Washington, La.; four stepchildren; and two adopted children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vera Barrett; and two brothers, Ron and Richard Barrett.
There will be no services. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Blair Township.

Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
