Son of Johannes and Anna Stina Pearson Yckenbom. Last name not a misprint. Apparently the surname was changed to Ackenbom.

---John Peter Ackenbom was born near Linkaping, Sweden on June 5, 1846 and died July 15, 1921, being at the time of his death, seventy-five years, one month and ten days of age.
---He came to America in the spring of 1881, locating near Burlington, Iowa where he engaged in farming in which profession he was a great success. In 1908 he came to La Plata, Missouri, locating on a farm just east of the village. In 1914 he retired from his work as a farmer and moved into La Plata where he resided until his death.
---He was married to Amelia Augusta Anderson in 1876. To this union there were born three children, Otto Gerhard, Ellen Augusta, who was afterward Mrs. C.W. Marple, and who died in October 24, 1908, and Peter Hugo, died April 1, of the same year.
---He leaves to mourn his loss, his kind and loving wife, one son, Otto, and nine grandchildren, one brother, Otto of Kane, Pennsylvania, besides a number of relatives and friends.
---Being born in Sweden as he was, he was brought up in the state church, The Swedish Lutheran. He was confirmed when he was fourteen years old. Being of a broad and independent mind by nature, he rather inclined the faith of the Universalist in religious belief.
---He was a sterling upright character and four square in his dealings with his fellow man.
---Up to the last he was conscious and thoughtful of others being careful not to be the cause, direct or indirect of any one going wrong.
---Funeral services were conducted from the residence July 17 at 2 p.m. The Rev. E.E. DeLong, pastor of the local Community Presbyterian Church, with a quartet from the choir to give the music, conducted the services. Interment was in La Plata cemetery.
