MARK R. AGEE
---Memorial services for Mark R. Agee, 27, of McCook, Neb., who was killed Friday morning April 13 in a collision of two freight trains near Wiggins, Colo., were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cutler Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The Rev. Dr. Richard Hogan, officiated. The body was cremated.
---Agee was one of five Burlington Northern Railroad crew members killed when the trains collided head-on.
---The eastbound freight Agee was riding had slowed, preparing to pull onto a siding so the westbound train could pass. The westbound train failed to stop at a red signal light, officials said. Stopping would have allowed the eastbound train to pull off the main track, they said.
---Agee, a dispatcher, was on the freight to make himself familiar with the route between Chicago and Denver, his father, Richard Agee said Sunday. "On an annual basis all dispatchers have to ride the route." he said.
---Agee was born In Kirksville, Mo. Oct. 1, 1956. He was a 1974 graduate of Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He had been employed with the Burlington Northern Railroads since 1975. He was a member of the Assembly Church in Omaha, Neb.
---Mark is survived by his parents, Richard and Beverly Agee, Council Bluffs, his sister, Michele Agee of Mill Valley, California; his grandparents, George and Alice Begole of La Plata, Mo. and Opal Agee of Kirksville, Mo. and uncles, aunts and cousins.
