Leonardo died as a result of a stabbing. He was outside his home smoking when he came back in after quite some time with stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital in Toppenish, where he later passed away. He had been spotted with a 19-year-old man while he was outside smoking. Police arrested the individual, Nathen Bennett. He is facing second degree murder charges. Leonardo's survivors include two daughters, Chelsea Cantu of Minnesota and Otilia Cantu of Grandview, Washington; two sons, Demitri Cantu and Enrique Cantu, both of Minnesota; two brothers, Esteban Cantu of Moxee, Washington and Lionel Cantu of Granger; three sisters, Carmen Torres of Zillah, Washington, Rosa Castro of Stanfield, Oregon, and Irene Cantu of Granger; his father, Leonardo Cantu of Granger; and his mother, Marta Flores Cantu of Granger. Leonardo was 48-years-old and was from Granger, where he had lived his whole life. He was disabled.
