John W. "Buddy" Blackwell

John W. "Buddy" Blackwell, age 63, of Fort Worth, died Saturday, July 14, 1990 at his home.

Born in Fort Worth, October 17, 1926, he was a retired employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., a member of the Masonic Lodge in Weatherford, member of the Telephone Pioneers, member of CWA employees, past president of the Telephone Bowling League, and had worked with Demolay in Weatherford.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Blackwell of Fort Worth; two sons, Johnny and Jimmy Blackwell, both of Granbury; two daughters, Betty Poteet and Kelly Wood, both of Granbury; a step-daughter, Brenda Barnwell of Fort Worth; his mother, Florence Blackwell of Weatherford; a brother, Marvin Blackwell of Weatherford; three sisters, Marie Foster of Crowley, Helen Carter of Benbrook, and Linda Behrens of Brazos; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 1990 at Shannon's South Funeral Chapel in Fort Worth with burial in Laurel Land Cemetery in Fort Worth.
