William D. Baker, 87, of Piqua, died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born in Tipp City on Aug. 24, 1915 to the late William Wayne and Lulu Fosnight Baker. He married Esther Snyder on Oct. 15, 1938 in Piqua; she preceded him in death on June 1, 1985. He married Norma Jean Tobias on July 10, 1986, in Rapid City, S.D., and she survives. Other survivors include two sons; William Kent Baker and Stephen Dorrence Baker; one daughter, Diana Mohler; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Kelly and Claudene Fogle. Mr. Baker retired in 1977 from the former Aerovent Fan Co. of Piqua, was a 1947 graduate of Piqua Central High School and attended college for two years. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Highland Cemetery, Covington with the Rev. Frank J. Sapp Sr. officiating.
