He was truly a pioneer and probably was more widely known than any man in this section of country. His life was characterized by a pleasantness and agreeableness that was quite noticeable by everyone who knew him. His last sickness which was of about two weeks duration was borne with patience and fortitude to the end. This man had the distinction of being the father of a truly remarkable family. Not many men can claim the honor of being the father of a family of thirteen children, twenty-seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, all living.
His funeral was preached at his late home, Feb. 24th, by L. A. Johnson of the Allerton Christian church, internment in the Allerton cemetery.
