William W. Moss, 87 of Dallas, Texas and formerly of Logansport, passed away Thursday evening Feb. 23, 2017 at the C. C. Young Senior Retirement facility in Dallas, Texas.

Born Sept. 8, 1929 in Paoli, IN to the late E. Herbert and Mildred (Hamm) Moss. On July 12, 1953 in Logansport, IN he married Wilma J. Moss who preceded in death on Oct. 29, 2006. Bill and Wilma met at Metea School in fourth grade.

Bill retired in 1993 after 31 years as Principal for Fairview School. From 1954 -1957 Bill was a teacher at Lucerne High School and became Principal of that school in 1957 and served until 1960. From 1960 – 1963 Bill taught at Daniel Webster School and in 1963 became Principal of Fairview School and served in that capacity until he retired. Bill also worked hard as a farmer on his family acreage in Bethlehem Township.

Bill and Wilma dearly loved to travel. They made excursions to all fifty U.S. States as well as countries abroad. They found much joy in going on cruises. Bill was also an avid Indy Car race fan, having worked at and attending the Indianapolis 500 many times. He also traveled to races in states around the U.S. Bill and Wilma also thoroughly enjoyed rooting on their Purdue University Basketball players.

Bill was a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church, Reserve Officers Association, Indiana State Teachers Association, Cass County Retired Teachers Association, Cass County Purdue Alumni Association, Served in the Army as a Military Intelligence Officer with highest rank as a Colonel, Past Lt. Governor in 1995 of the Indiana District Kiwanis, Member and Past President of Logansport Noon Kiwanis Club, member of Cass County Farm Bureau, Graduated from Metea High School in 1947, received his Bachelors degree in Agriculture Science from Purdue University in 1951, and received his Masters in Educational Administration from Purdue in 1954. Bill was a Class of 1951 Purdue University Alumni Member, member of the American Legion Post #60 and V.F.W. Post #3790, and an active member of the C. C. Young "Young Strikers" Wii Bowling league in Dallas, TX.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Moss, Dallas, TX; Margaret "Molly" Moss, Dallas, TX; Martha (Michael) King, Midlothian, TX; granddaughter, Emily King, Midlothian, TX; grandson Michael W. King, Midlothian, TX; sister, Elizabeth (Mike) Davis, Los Alimitos, CA; brother, Dr. James H. (Dianne) Moss, Dekalb, IL; and six nieces.
