Carol passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2017, in her home. She was the daughter of Raymond T. and Ruth (Nipple) Lacey.

She had been employed at the Logansport State Hospital for over 40 years before a brain tumor forced her into early retirement in 2014. She was a dedicated employee who loved both her co-workers and the patients there dearly, as she considered them all a part of her extended family.

Carol was the youngest of six ornery sisters and was indeed that "crazy aunt" that you always hear about! Those who knew her, knew that she was extremely unconventional and definitely lived her life to the fullest.

Carol is survived by one sister, Marcia (Harold) Appleton; her nieces and nephews, Diane Felton (Dennis Pike), David (Karon) Felton, Sandy Flora, Kris Cover, Brad Atchison, Todd Winegardner, Lori (Rodney) Martel, and Kami (Kelly) Young; great-nieces and nephews, Adam, Cyrus, and Paige Felton, Thad and Brittany Nelson, Kyle, Cameron, and Kaitlyn Cover, Dalton and Spencer Atchison, Eliana, Hettie, Coralee, and Jaeziah Winegardner, Lacey (Bryan) Fregia, Taylor (Kassie) Monse, Kaden and Kylie Young; great-great-grandniece and nephew Keegan and Blair Monse; and her long time friend, Gary Fisher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Genie Felton, Betty Bair, Janet Hall, and Becky Reynolds; and one brother, John.

Her wishes to be cremated without a formal funeral service will be honored, so a casual celebration of her life will be held Sunday, March 12, from 1-3 p.m., at the Elks Lodge, 1100 N. Third Street in Logansport. The family would love everyone who knew Carol to come and share those crazy stories and memories, along with any pictures that you may have and wish to share.
