An advertisement in numerous 1895 issues of The Record-Union newspaper (Sacramento, California) stated:
DENTISTRY. DR. W.O. GIRARDEY, DENTIST (Formerly with Dr. W.W. Light). Office and residence, 922 Fifth street, next to Sacramento Bank, Sacramento.
On 26 July 1894 The Record-Union reported the wedding of Miss Annie Ankeie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Ankeie, to Dr. W.O. Girardey, of this city, took place yesterday at high noon at the residence of the bride's parents, 718 L street. The handsome residence was elaborately decorated throughout with rare ferns, smilax and flowers, the parlors especially presenting a vision of refreshing beauty. In one corner of the front parlor was an immense wedding bell, constructed of beautiful flowers, beneath which the happy couple were married by Rev. Mr. Oehler. The wedding precession entered the parlors exactly at noon. Miss Anna Neubourg was brides maid and Henry Feldhusen was groomsman. About sixty invited guests were present. A very large number of elegant presents were received, the majority of them being very costly. After congratulations were extended, the guests, led by the bride and groom, filed down-stairs, where an elegant repast was served. After the banquet the happy couple departed for the south to spend the honeymoon. They will return to this city to reside.
On 3 December 1895 The Record-Union reported that Dr. Girardey, the dentist, underwent a painful operation at the hands of an oculist yesterday in the removal of a small piece of steel which had lodged in his eye.
According to cemetery recors he died of hepatic cirrhosis in his 45th year.
His wife, Annie A. Giardey, remarried at some point although she is buried in the plot with her first husband (Dr. Girardey) who she survived by an astounding 50 years.
