Mary was the fourth child of John E. and Jane M. {Putnam} Curtis. She had two brothers involved in the family shoe manufacturing business and three sisters, only one of whom married. Mary taught in the public schools of Marlborough, Massachusetts. She and sisters, Annie and Lillian, lived together for many years until their mother's death on Main Street in the family homestead. For the last decades of her life, she lived with Annie and Lillian at Maddox Place, Marlborough. She is at the left in the photograph with the Arnold S. Curtis family and sister, Lillian, is on the right. The photo was taken at "Lake Farm" the beloved home of their late brother, Charles, located on the banks of Fort Meadow Reservoir.
