Carl R. Cherry, 59, of 2920 Tenth ave., and a resident of Marion for the past two years, passed away 12:30 a.m. Sunday Jan. 9, in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was born the son of Elmer F. and Effie Anderson Cherry on July 26, 1912 at Walker. On July 16, 1931 he was married to Opal Cherry who passed away Nov, 16, 1964. On May 1, 1965 he was married to Helen Noska. Mr. Cherry was a retired farmer and had lived in the Center Point area for 24 years. He was a member of the Center Point Christian church and a member of the IOOF Lodge.

Surviving are his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer F. Cherry of Marion; a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Delores) Blackwood of College Place, Wash.; a step-daughter, Mrs. William (Marilyn) Bolton of LaPorte City; two step-sons, James Noska of Central City and Richard Noska of Marion; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (DeVee) Skinner. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Trimble.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11 at the Murdoch chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. Peter Morgan and Rev. John Park Winkler, Jr. Interment was in Cedar Memorial park. Friends if they wish, may contribute to the Cancer Fund as a memorial.
