Edward D. Cherry
Edward D. Cherry, 80, of 219 Twentieth street NE, a Cedar Rapids resident 51 years, died early Monday following a long illness.
Born near Walker, May 18, 1884, he was married to Sarah C. Hoffman in Holstein on Feb. 26, 1905.
He was a constable here for many years, and also had been an automobile accessory salesman.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Thelma Forsythe of Cedar Rapids; a brother Elmer F. Cherry of Marion, and a sister, Ida Walton of Central City.
Mr. Cherry was a member of Maine Lodge I.O.O.F., and the Pythians.
Services: Beatty - Beurle funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. John M. Hardy of First Christian church, and Maine Lodge. Burial: Cedar Memorial. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.
