*******Born in Kirkcudbright, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, in 1824. She was a direct descendant of an ancient Scottish family, being a daughter of the late George Gordon Maxwell McClellan and Elizabeth Gordon. George Gordon Maxwell McClellan was Laird of Black Craig, Borgue, Kirkcudbrightshire. She was a first cousin of the late Camden Grey McClellan, last Barnon Kirkcudbright and heriditary Sheriff of Galloway since the days of King James II of Scotland in 1435. George Gordon Maxwell McClellan was born in Bombie (sometimes spelled Bombi) which was situated a few miles form the town of Kircudbright (which means Church of Cuthbert)

Jessie McClellan Allen died in Millbrook January 30, 1918 in her 94th year. Buried in the Churchyard in the family vault, at St. John's Cavan.
