George Gordon Maxwell McClellan was Laird of Black Craig, Borgue, Kirkcudbrightshire. She was a first cousin of the late Camden Grey McClellan, last Barnon Kirkcudbright and heriditary Sheriff of Galloway since the days of King James II of Scotland in 1435. George Gordon Maxwell McClellan was born in Bombie (sometimes spelled Bombi) which was situated a few miles form the town of Kircudbright (which means Church of Cuthbert)
