Betty Geneva Jacobs was born on Nov 8, 1923 to Fred Jacobs (1901-1973) and Pauline (Damaron) Jacobs (1895-1952). She was the younger of three daughters, the other two daughters being Virginia Mae, b. Jul 24, 1919, and Lurlie E., b.1921.*
Betty Geneva Burkhart was the loving wife of Albany's Police Chief, Robert Marshall Burkhart, who died suddenly at the age of 46, in March of 1970, of a heart attack, to the total shock and dismay of everyone in the area who thought very highly of both him and his family. She was the loving mother of two sons, Robert, b.1950, & Larry, b.1951. Dear Betty never remarried as the love of her life was gone. She remained a widow until she passed from this life herself on July 23rd, 1989. She is interred by her husband at Willamette Memorial Park, Albany, Linn County, Oregon. I was able to meet her in 1987 at the "Burkhart Family Reunion" picnic held at Burkhart Park on Aug 9th. She was a very nice lady who I wish I'd had a chance to visit with longer. I know she is with her husband in Heaven now, for Eternity, at peace.
