George died at his home. Born to Erline Viola Miera and Gabe Albert Allarid, he graduated from Brighton High School in 1977 as class Salutatorian. Following his service in the Navy, he worked for the Postal Service at the general mail facility in Commerce City, then for several businesses after leaving USPS. He loved to fish and spend time outdoors. He enjoyed going to Rockies games and following the Broncos and CU Buffaloes. He enjoyed a good game of chess with anyone willing to play him. He was a very giving, loving and lighthearted soul. He was diagnosed with Abdominal Stage 4 Cancer and fought valiantly against it. He fought a good fight, trying not to let his illness slow him down or get the better of him. Survivors included: son Charles (Bonnie) Allarid; grandsons Carter and Parker; siblings Gilbert (Vicki) Allarid, Ronn Miera, Diane Maes, Victoria Miera, Aileen (Juan) Escobedo, and Anthony Miera; aunts Flora (Sonny) Madrid of Pueblo, Teresa Maes of Denver and Beatrice Maes of Brighton. Thanks to Halcyon Hospice, especially RN Stephanie Silvia and Brent Kaufmen. Graveside Service held June 17th.
