Bertha was born to Fredrick Trostel and Minnie Edstrom, graduated from Brighton High School in 1946, and was married to Walter Dick until his death in 1970. She was also married to Danny Abel from July 15, 1971, until his death on July 11, 2001. A lifetime resident of the Brighton and Commerce City area, she had worked for KWAL painting in Denver for many years, was clerk for Commercial Office Products in Denver, and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Commerce City. She made sure her family came first in life and hosted family dinner every Sunday for 30 years. She enjoyed crochet and knitting. Survivors included: children Harold (Pam) Dick of Ramona CA, Cheryl Wilbur of Aurora, Sherrie (Dana) Bybee of Brighton, Danny (Debbie) Abel of Fayette, MO, and Joseph (Sarah) Abel of Denver. Preceding were her daughters Desrae in 1998 and Sharon in 2003, brothers Robert and Fred, and sister Anna. Funeral held September 11th at Tabor Rice Funeral Home.
