He married Esther Dyer. The Dyer family were Quaker preachers, who came to Pa in 1714 from Friend's House, Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, England

John was a notable member of the Bradshaw family. He was reckoned a man of capacity, influence and worth in the neighbourhood in which he lived. In his will he left farms to all his children. He also left bequests to Mary, widow of his deceased son Jonas and her two children Amos and Jane.

John Bradshaw served in the Militia in the American Revolutionary War. He was in Capt Robert Bigson's Co., of Militia for Plumstead Twp. John and Esther farmed in Buckingham Twp. Burial , Plumstead Friends Burial Ground, Plumstead Twp.
