Marie Hale Cornell, 85, passed away with family at home on January 12, 2005. Marie was born in San Diego on November 6, 1919, the youngest daughter of Wilbur and Sarah Hale. She attended Central Elementary, Wilson Jr. High and graduated from Hoover High School in 1937. She met Jack Cornell thru mutual friends and married on November 8, 1941. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2000. Marie's greatest joy was her family, grandchildren (Cathy and Steven Assad of Oregon, Ronnie, Robbie, Ryan and Derek Cornell of San Diego), Going to or listening to Padres Games, trips to Bullhead City, Arizona to visitMel and Evie Cornell. Also the four of them taking trips to Yuma Spring training to see the Padres, and local trips to Barons when possible. Marie is survived by her sister Marjorie Hale Neal; daughter Paula and her son-in-law Micheal Assad of Oregon City, Oregon; son John and daughter-in-law Marilyn of La Mesa, and son Gary and daughter-in-law Janest Cornell of San Diego. Marie was a very kind person and always thinking of others needs, even to the end. She will be greatly missed by friends, and family. Viewing will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2005, and Services will be at Graveside at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego, CA.
