GREENSBURG - George D.
Barney, 83, died Feb. 1, 1982, at St. Joseph Hospital, St. Paul, Minn., after a short illness. Born July 28, 1898, at Fayetteville, Ark., he married Margie Mildred Smith in October 1931. She died Sept. 12, 1962. He was a sexton of Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, from 1943 to 1967 and had lived in Greensburg since 1902.

Survivors: sons, Charles, St. Paul, Minn.; Chester, Alpena, Mich.; Bob, Greensburg; daughters, Goldie Irene Hanley, Edmond, Okla.; Sally Beltz, 113 West 16th, Hutchinson; sisters, Edna Berger, Greensburg; Mamie Bone, Ocean Springs, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fleener Chapel, Greensburg; the Rev. Lynn Firkins. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Friends may call from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
