Bloomington Pantagraph (May 23,1985)---The funeral for Oliver Abraham, 68, of Hoffman Estates and formerly of Pontiac, will be at 2pm today at the Raleigh J Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac, the Rev Craig Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Rowe cemetery. Visitation will be from noon today until the time of service at the funerall home. Mr Abraham died at 5am Tuesday (May 21,1985) at Northwest Community Hospital in Arliington Heights. He had been ill for two months. He was born March 16,1917, at Pontiac, a son of Silas and Jeverna Hetland Abraham. He married Dorothy Rabe at Kentland,Ind July 8,1939. She preceded him in death Oct 3,1984. Surviving are two sons, John D, Wheaton, and Dennis, Hoffman Estates; his mother Pontiac, a brother, John, Pontiac, a sister June Tapke, Normal; and three grandchildren. He was educated in Pontiac schools and was employed for more than 25 years by Ace Hardware Co. At the time of his death retirement in January 1984, he was Manager of Ace Hardware in Wheeling. His father and sister preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to Livingston County Unit of the American Cancer Society or to First Lutheran Church of Pontiac, where he formerly was a member.
