[Mr. E. G. Bevels, aged 71 years, died at his home at Dellrose Thursday, September 29, 1932... Three times he had been a candidate for Circuit Court Clerk and by his canvass became acquainted with a large numer (sic) of the people of the county, and while unsuccessful in his official aspirations he received a large vote every time he offered. He was a member of the Church of Christ and his religious convictions governed his course through life. He was an upright and honorable gentleman and honesty was one of his cardinal virtues. We have known him for a long number of years and was never acquainted with a man whose friendship we valued more highly. Funeral service was conducted by Eld. Largen and Rev. Ridgeway with burial at Shiloh. Surviving him are his wife and seven children.]
