This is his faithful little cat who stayed by his side after he passed away and would lay in the same spot until her own death one month to the day after his.

Craig and I met on America OnLine (now AOL), December 1994 in the long gone Members Helping Members "Unique" folder. After six months of serious corresponding, we wondered if a Louisiana girl and a Pennsylvania man could ever make a life together in the real world. So we agreed to meet at my dear lady friend's home in Columbus, Ohio October 13, 1995 ... well, magic happened.
The following month I flew to Pennsylvania to attend a mutual online friend's wedding. Then flew back to Shreveport announcing to my family and friends that after nearly twenty one years of divorced life, I would put my home on the market and Craig would move me to Allentown, PA.
Realizing that I've been extremely active in animal awareness and advocacy all my adult life, Craig was still a bit taken back when we first began discussing a life together. He thought himself an avid dog lover, not one to care much about cats. Never being owned by one, he had no idea what marvelous companions they are. When I began taking steps to put my home up for sale, he asked to whom I planned on giving the five Kiddens. I was flabbergasted to say the least, for I hadn't even considered anything but where I go, they go. And I said the first thing that popped into my mind in response: "No cats, no me - we're a package deal."
He took the entire package.
A staunch Republican, Craig was active in both civic and community service in Pennsylvania. He was Allentown's President of Crime Watch and rode shotgun on local police patrols for several years. He also was a member of Fire Police in Lehigh and Carbon counties. For nearly sixteen years, as a part-time interest, he owned Disc Connection, LLC and was the main mobile disc jockey, DJing for birthdays, graduations, family reunions, anniversaries, and weddings. He coached boys' middle school softball and high school wrestling. While in high school (William Allen High), he was employed by Allen Hardware and continued working there for five years, then was employed by Stanley-Vidmar for twenty-two years.
On December 19th, 1996, Craig and I were quietly married in Palmerton, Pennsylvania with his parents in attendance. So many years had passed since I'd been a wife; I thought I lived in a dreamland. I'm still so proud he's my husband.
In November, 1999 when my mother's health first began to fail, we had the opportunity to move home due to a transfer with Craig's employment. We bought my parents' old home down in Keithville, Louisiana. It was up for sale since Mama had a home built in Shreveport that July. All of us - Craig, the Kiddens and oh especially me! - were so thankful to be in the South again.
He loved the South, (born, reared and had never lived anywhere but Pennsylvania) and absolutely never wanted to live in the North again. On the animal message board that we owned and maintained, his signature tagline read: "I wasn't born in the South, but I got here as soon as I could."
From the very beginning of our relationship every letter, note, email, card, and phone call began with "Hi, Gorgeous." How I long for and miss those two words of salutation! On all correspondence to each other our signature was, "Always and forever."
Craig never met a stranger and enjoyed life to the fullest. To know him was to love him. He was a gentle and kind, dependable and loving man, had a terrific sense of humor and always a ready smile. A great animal lover, he was very active in cat rescue and pet guardian responsibility efforts, fund-raising thousands of dollars for our non-profit cat sanctuary.
He loved golfing, bowling, and fishing, and was an avid ice hockey and football fan. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He dearly loved to dance and was an outstanding ice skater. Though color-blind, he could distinguish most shades of blue and loved anything blue.
Craig - my inspiration, my love, my life - always smiling, always in great humor.
These are just some of the many animals that enriched my Craig's life: Our Rainbow Bridge Kids.
Note: When I pass away, Craig's and my urns containing our respective ashes will be placed in Daddy's veteran's bench located at his grave-site at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Looking back on the memory of
the dance we shared 'neath the stars above;
For a moment all the world was right.
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye?
And now I'm glad I didn't know
the way it all would end, the way it all would go.
Our lives are better left to chance;
I could have missed the pain,
but I'd have had to miss the dance.
Holding you I held everything.
For a moment wasn't I the king
If I'd only known how the king would fall,
Hey, who's to say - you know, I might have changed it all.
And now I'm glad I didn't know
the way it all would end, the way it all would go.
Our lives are better left to chance;
I could have missed the pain,
but I'd have had to miss the dance.
Yes, my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance.
