Frances "Ann" Accola, 54, of Columbia died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W., with the Rev. Keith Simon officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Accola was born Jan. 25, 1947, in Birmingham, Ala., to Faul and Bertha Frances Smith Williams.

She graduated from Ensley High School in Birmingham. While in Alabama, she worked at the NASA Space Flight Center with Boeing Aircraft during the first Apollo flight.

The Accola family moved to Columbia in 1991 from San Antonio. She had worked in the Boone County auditor's office for the past nine years.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her mother, Bertha Frances Brown of Birmingham; her stepfather, Emmett Brown of Birmingham; a daughter, Stacie Accola of Columbia; a brother, Jerry Williams of Horton, Ala.; a sister, Gayle Morris of Columbia; and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her father.

The Accola family moved to Columbia from San Antonio, Texas in 1991. While living in Columbia, Mrs. Accola was an employee at the Boone County Government Center with the Auditor's Department.
Visitation for Mrs. Accola will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Services, conducted by the Rev. Keith Simon, will immediately follow the visitation at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Burial is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Memorial Park Cemetary.
Mrs. Accola is survived by her mother, Bertha Frances Brown and stepfather Emmett Brown of Birmingham, Ala.; daughter Stacie Accola of Columbia; brother Jerry Williams of Horton, Ala.; sister Gayle Morris of Columbia and granddaughter Megan Accola of Columbia.
Her father, Faul Williams, died earlier.
