Aubrey C. Acton, 79, of Columbia died Saturday, May 28, 1994, at his home.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Memorial Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Slade Skipper officiating. Burial will be in Nashville
Cemetery in Sapp. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31,
at the funeral home.

Mr. Acton was born May 8, 1915, in Boone County to Wood Acton and Bulah Taylor
Acton.

He was employed as a carpenter in the construction business.

He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific, receiving the
Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and
Philippine Independence Ribbon.

He was also a member of VFW Post No. 280 in Columbia.

Survivors include two sons, Don Acton of Columbia and Gary Acton of the state
of California; a daughter, Wanda Backues of Columbia; two stepdaughters; a
brother, Otto Acton of Columbia; nine grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
