Ernie was killed outside of Lamont, CA., when he attempted to assist a lady involved in a car accident. At the time of the wreck, it was raining and there was a powerline down. Eight year old Ernie Jr. accidently stepped in some water which caused him to be electricuted, Ernie Sr. went to grab ahold of Jr. and was electricuted.
