Patricia Lucille Connett
June 21, 1926 ~ October 17, 2014
Resident of Walnut Creek

Patty Connett was born on June 21, 1926 at Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland, CA to Sidney Ames and Florence Ethna Dibble.

She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 17, 2014 after a four month battle with cancer.
She was raised in Oakland and Piedmont and attended Piedmont High School where she met her future husband, Mahlon Coleman Connett.

During her childhood, she established many lifelong friends ("The 'E' Girls!"), many of whom were able to call or visit her in her last days. Upon graduation, she attended Stephens College, a finishing school in Missouri for young women. After her two year term was completed, she attended San Francisco State and earned her teaching credential. She and Mahlon were married on January 31, 1948 in Piedmont, after which time she worked as an elementary school teacher to support Mahlon in his studies in Medical School.

After a brief stint in the Air Force in South Carolina, Mahlon was accepted into the Medical School at UCSF, bringing them back to the Bay Area. They moved to Walnut Creek in 1959, to Alamo in October of 1963, to Danville in 1977 and to Rossmoor 1996.

During this time, Patty was actively involved in Community Presbyterian Church (CPC) in Danville, which they joined in 1963, and in Bible Study Fellowship, where she served in a variety of leadership roles. She was a Docent with the Tassajara School House for eighteen years and was involved in the Women's Auxiliary of the ACCMA. She remained very active right up until her diagnosis in June.
She is survived by her four children, Brenda Ann Miles (Kimrick), Randall Mahlon (Nancy Rahe), Richard David (Pati Rosgen) and James Coleman (Rachel Tameshwar). She had nine grandchildren and thirteen Great-Grandchildren. Her greatest joy was to have her family gathered together around the dinner table, enjoying each other's company.

She was predeceased by Mahlon after 61 years of marriage, and by her sister, Dorothy Colbourn.

Services will be held at Community Presbyterian Church on November 15th at 1:00 PM. Memorial Gifts may be made to CPC general fund or Hospice of the East Bay.
