Martha McGregor, 93, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Southwood Home Healthcare. She was born Jan. 5, 1920, in Terre Haute, to Fred E. and Mary M. Henson Leachman.

Martha had many interests throughout her life, and music was always a big part of it. At her 50-year class reunion for Gerstmeyer High School, she entertained classmates with hit tunes of the 1940s. She was involved with the music ministry and the Missionary Society at Maryland Community Church, where she was a member for many years.

She was a volunteer at the McMillan Adult Day Care Center and was active in the Southside Chapter of the AARP and Maryland Home Ec Club. She was one of the original members of Honey Creek Mother Bees, through which she made lifelong friends. She was active in and enjoyed the Women's Department Club and the Honey Creek Fire Department Auxillary. She and her husband owned and operated several businesses in the Terre Haute area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard "Mac" McGregor, in 1977; her parents; a sister, Nona Malone; two brothers, Harold and Ted Leachman; and her in-laws, Lawrence and Pearl McGregor.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Steenerson; and two sons, Tommy McGregor and wife Judy, and David McGregor and wife Donna, all of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren, Chad Steenerson and fiancée Laura Sommers of Terre Haute, Jonathan Steenerson and fiancée Meredith Brown of Memphis, Tenn., Rian Steenerson of Boulder, Colo., Tim McGregor and wife Gina of Midwest City, Okla., Toby McGregor and wife Niki of Terre Haute, Matthew McGregor and wife Lauren of Carmel, and Sarah McGregor of Brownsburg; four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Zachary McGregor of Terre Haute and Justin and Meghan McGregor of Midwest City, Okla.; two nieces, Christine Rouch and husband Paul, and Nancy Sabin and husband Forest; and three nephews, Robert Malone, Edmund Malone and James Malone and wife Judy.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at DeBaun Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Youngblood officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
