Ronald W. Benedict 89, of the Folts Home in Herkimer and formerly of West Exeter. Passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Bassett Health Care in Cooperstown.

He was born on January 10, 1923 in Sidney, NY a son of the late Willard and Pearl (Donohue) Benedict. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. On August 25, 1946 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Garbett a blessed union of over 66 years.

Mr. Benedict was employed at one time with General Electric in Schenectady and later with Chicago Pneumatic in Utica where he retired after many years of dedicated service.

Mr. Benedict enjoyed building and collecting Die Cast model cars.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of the Folts Home in Herkimer, his sons, Ronald G. Benedict and his wife Karen of Jacksonville, FL, and David Benedict and his wife Kim of West Winfield. He also leaves his grandchildren, Rebecca Benedict, Justin Benedict, Bradley Benedict and his companion Jessica Davis, Ashley Benedict and her companion Jonathan Ritzel, his great grandchildren, Ivory, Audrey, Kendal, Riley, Chase and Alexandria He is also survived by a sister Irene Dresher of Waterveliet, NY He was predeceased by three sisters, Marjorie, Nina and Joyce.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery in Colonie, NY.
