William Henry ( Harry ) Jones Born in Pontypool, Or Swansea, Wales 18 Dec 1889 died on vacation in Florida ,Pompona Beach , Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He died from a heart attack on the 10 Sept 1962. And my dad and my mom flew him home along with his daddy’s sister Vivian and her second husband, too Youngstown Ohio, and he was Buried on the 13 Sept, 1962. He came to this country by way of the S.S. Haverford in 1907 to Philadelphia and was meeting his uncle David Jones after he returned to Wales and was married in Aberdare, Wales in 1911, to a Eleanor Mary Hopkins . Her father was William Hopkins and her mother was Hannah Louisa Williams. They came to the USA in 1864. My great grandfather was a William Henry Jones and was married to a Kate Jones but this is not known at this present time who the correct person is. My grandfather moved to Monessen Pennslyvania and lived on Donner Ave. having 2 children Albert Jeffrey Jones born 30 May 1912 and Hannah Vivian Jones( ? )Craig born 31 Dec 1916. The family moved to Youngstown, after the before the birth of my aunt in 1916. I am Mary Ellen Jones Campbell and he is my grandfather, along with my step siblings Margaret Isabel Jones Constantine who is deceased and brother Albert Curtis Jones. I was 9 years old when he died. He worked Monessen, Pennsylvania and lived in a house on number 2 Schoonermaker Ave. he was an Electrician in the tool and die shop until he moved to Youngstown , Ohio in 1916-9 then worked in Youngstown Sheet Tool and Dye Company from 1920 to 1936 as an electrician then going to Republic Steel Corporation and working there as the main supervisor of the company until retired in 1960. He was the supretindent and consulting engineer . Moving to Gadsden ,Al. In 1960 to a new subdivision in Gadsden on Country Club Dr. He was brought to Youngstown for burial in Forrest Park Lawn Cemetary . He attended Boardman Nazarene Church was a member of the R&A.M. 638, Syria Shrine,and the Consistory of Coudersport, Pa. He left his family William Henry Jones and wife Kate, and three brothers and 2 sisters in Wales. The funeral was held at 1 pm at the Davis Velker Funeral home with many in attendance . Friends called between 7-9 PM. That Friday following his burial of his day, there was a family gathering. He lived formally on N.Cadillac Dr, Boardman ,Ohio before retiring and moving south to stay with his son and daughter - in -law , Belkiss Pivello Jones of Rio de Janeiro . His daughter was twice married and the last husband was Garland Samuel Craig. She lived at one time at in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after her first divorce then married Craig moving to Turlock, Califonia. Both children have died but daughter in law is still living with me, his granddaughter Mary Ellen Jones Campbell . At 98 she is in a nursing home. Not doing well.
