Katherine Alice Montgomery was from the McDougall family from Baltimore Maryland that immigrated to Port Gibson Mississippi and were very prominent people. Her father was Hugh Walter Montgomery married to Sarah Olivia McDougall and Her mother’s father was Nikolas McDougall and her mother was Alive Olivia Magruder of the famous Magruder family of Calvert Maryland. Her great grandfather was Judge Nicholas Allen McDougall and was married to Elizabeth McEvers (Rouse by first marriage). He was the probate judge of Mississippi in 1800s . I learned the lineage of her when I inherited her mother’s bible that tells the story of her family beginning in 1700. She then was married to John Woodley Campbell of Montgomery Alabama who moved to Vicksburg and was a typographical worker and they lived in Tuscaloosa Alabama, first on Crestview Ave downtown then moved to El Dorado East in Northport Tuscaloosa. They were married 1907 and celebrated 50 years of marriage before their deaths. And was given a blessing signed from Pope John for their 50 years of marriage. She died of lung cancer at her home in El Dorado East with her daughter Martha JoAn by her side.
