Earl G. Roberts

CENTRALIA - Earl Granville Roberts, 96, Centralia, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at an Onaga hospital.

He was born March 20, 1904, in Nemaha County, to Granville Stanton and Dora Ellen Jacolliot Roberts, and attended schools in Nemaha County. He had been a farmer and stockman in the Centralia community for more than 65 years.

He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Centralia where he served as a deacon, trustee and Sunday school superintendent. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Booster Club and Keenagers, all Centralia. He served on the Home Township board.

He married Wilma Flentie on Jan. 21, 1930, in Seneca. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Kenneth Roberts, Pella, Iowa; two daughters, Retha Christiansen, Sequim, Wash., and Myrna Evers, Bothell, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Centralia. Burial will be in Centralia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hayes-Popkess Funeral Home in Centralia.
