June 21, 1941 - May 6, 2015. Albert "Albear" Joseph Courtney III met his Maker, passing at his family's side, after a brave battle with lung cancer. He was born in New York, NY to Albert J. Courtney II (Musician) and Alice Dorothy Stephens (Homemaker). They had five children: Albert III, Kenneth, Richard, Vivian and Carlene. Albert was a professional in the hospitality industry. He was the youngest ma¿tre d' at the Las Vegas Sands Hotel, Chief Steward at Prudential-Grace Lines and Delta Steamship, co-founder of Golden-Whisk w/ Elinor Hill-Courtney, and VPO at SeaEscape Cruises. With 29 years of sobriety, he was a faithful member of the AA community. His passions included traveling, ships & gaming, gourmet foods, and community service. His mantra was, "Stay in the PRESENT and be appreciative". He was a mentor and friend to many. Albert is survived by daughters Jasa Delle Williams and Rohanna Lea Berrier, grandchildren Alexander Garrison & Astara Delle, Lilah Jayne, and many cousins. Celebratory Memorial: May 16, 5pm, Quarterdeck on Cordova, FLL.
