Jordan Lee Adams Sr., 76, Russellville, a person of love and kindness, departed this earthly life Dec. 22, 2003, at ECM Hospital, Florence, Ala. Jordan was the only child born to the late Mr. J.W. Adams and Mrs. Marcella Hillman Adams in Russellville, Ala., on Feb. 1, 1927. At an early age, Jordan accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and became a member at St. Paul CME Church. Jordan's involvement as an active member of St. Paul CME Church included: chairman of Trustee Board, Sunday school teacher and most of all, a very faithful and dedicated worker. Jordan's involvement during his long life included: a retired teacher (served as a classroom teacher, coach and principal) of Franklin County; member of the American Legion; retired member of National Education Association and Alabama Education Association; lifetime member of Alabama A&M University Alumni; and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 47-Ensley Rising. Jordan was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. Memories will be cherished by a beloved wife of 49 years, Ms. Callie M. Adams, Russellville, Ala.; sons, Jordan Adams Jr., Norristown, Pa., Brian (Chiquita) Suggs, Madison, Ala.; daughters, Sherhonda Adams, Acworth, Ga., Sharon (Hason Rasheed) Suggs, Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Hasan and Sabriya Rasheed, Nashville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Lucille Suggs, Russellville, Ala.; brother-in-law, Robert (Martha) Suggs, Sheffield, Ala.; uncle, Hollis Graham, Russellville, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Saturday at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel, with burial in Luketown Cemetery, Russellville. The Rev. Bryant Faust will officiate. Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
