Bertha Anderson, 727 W. American Street, died in a Freeport hospital Monday, September 10, 1956.
She was born October 13, 1903 in Freeport, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anno Stubbe. On December 24, 1924, she was married to Riley Anderson, who died June 3, 1950. She was an employee of the Northwestern Telephone Company since 1951. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Freeport.
Survivors include a son, Russell, a student at Carthage College; a daughter, Shirley June, a student nurse in Chicago; her mother; one sister, Mrs. George Simmons of Rapid City, South Dakota; and six brothers, John and George Stubbe of Freeport; Charles of Rockford; and Fred, Henry, and Clifford, all of California.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. (DST) at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Charles F. Landwere, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Burke Tubbs Funeral Home after 5 o'clock tonight until 10 a.m. Thursday.
